Quality of Design and Construction

The six-story Sun Healthcare World Headquarters Building completes the campus of the Sun Healthcare Corporation. This curvilinear building is sited parallel to Interstate Highway 25 to the east. This allows for the maximum amount of offices to have panoramic views of the Sandia Mountains.

The building contains 210,000 square feet of office and support space and a full basement that houses the mechanical system. The building is uniquely integrated with an adjacent 500 space, five level parking structure to the north in order to lessen the impact of parking on the site. It is organized around a central three-story atrium, located on axis to the main entry drive. Exterior finishes include a combination of a sandstone masonry veneer, an aluminum metal panel system and a custom aluminum curtain wall system. The building is linked to adjacent buildings by landscaped plazas encouraging pedestrian movement around the campus.
