Master Plan

Fanning Bard Tatum and NBBJ
Architects prepared a Master Plan in 1997 for University Hospital to serve as an
organizing guide for a wide variety of physical needs - some immediate and some
long-term. It should insure that short-term improvements fit into the larger long
range plan, that projects meet the objective of improving patient care and teaching
environments, and that cost impacts are recognized. The document recommended
existing building improvements and additions to accommodate expanding services and
replace obsolete facilities. Following completion of the University Hospital Master
Plan, our team was retained to expand the Plan to incorporate the entire Health Science
Center. The resultant Master Plan is a description of the Health Science Center's
future vision and planned development over twenty years. The purpose of the Plan is
to define a blueprint for the most appropriate long-range development of the Center
together with projected near-term, or 5 year, capital improvements.
