Moriarty High School Commons Addition
Moriarty Municipal Schools
Moriarty, New Mexico

1989

5,500 sf

$532,000

This project involved two additions to the High School.  Due to a cold, windy winter climate, high school students needed an indoor multi-purpose space for various activities throughout the day and after school, thus the Commons was designed linking two existing classroom buildings.  It is a large open volume with extensive natural light constructed of painted concrete block and exposed steel framing.  It features a concession stand, stage, activities office and game room.   Also included in this project was a 7,400 sf science classroom addition consisting of four classrooms equipped for various science classes.
