The Mobilization and Training Equipment Site, a facility for the NM Army National Guard, is located in the Doņa Ana Range Camp, south of White Sands Missile Range in southern NM. It is a large, multiuse facility containing vehicle maintenance bays, supply warehouse facilities and administrative offices; it can house up to 300 personnel involved in military training exercises. The exterior design of MATES is a reflection of the extreme desert conditions found in Southern NM; clerestory windows provide natural light while siting and window placement reduced heat gain. Several acres of the site are paved for parking and storage of large military vehicles.
